Reversing the Reaction
Jan. 4th, 2008 08:47 pmThe very bright folks at Sandia National Labs have figured out how to get fuel from CO2
I'm really excited about this for a number of reasons. If this becomes economically viable, that would mean that any country with enough national capital to set this up on a large scale could become energy independent. Cobalt... eh, not exactly cheap, but when you think of the cost involved in drilling a well, getting the crude to the refinery, and refining all of the crap out of it, that gets expensive, too. Best off, it's completely carbon-neutral, aside from manufacturing the components. I really like the idea of a solar furnace like that, and I'm looking forward to its development.
