Resolutions
Jan. 2nd, 2008 07:07 amThese can be summed up in more or less five statements:
1) Get Healthy
2) Get Organized
3) Use cloth shopping bags when I go shopping
4) Learn Python
5) Meet some gorram people around here- I can't be the only single 20something!
1) and 2) are going to be difficult- they've been somewhere on my list of resolutions for the past couple years, and I've only had varying degrees of success. But this year I'm going to break it down into increments:
January: try to eat five servings of fruits and vegetables three days a week. It's okay to get away with three every other day. Run with the dogs at the animal shelter two hours a week. Do ten minutes of tidying up a day.
February: do portion control on meat- everything over 6 oz gets a doggie bag. Weights 30 min, once a week. Keep up with the dogs and the 3-5. Clean out old files.
March: It should be starting to get light out in the morning, so getting up will be easier. Use this to my advantage to get up early and do cardio for 30 min three times a week. Keep up with the dogs, the weights, the portion control and the 3-5. Every day I'm not doing cardio, I should be spending that half hour in the morning cleaning.
April: Keep up everything. Attempt to eat less processed food. Look into possibly taking a martial arts class of some kind.
May: After the annual exam, schedule an appointment for a skin check- I wouldn't know melanoma if it bit me on the ass, and it just might be doing that. Maintain everything else.
June- Dec: Maintain all the good habits that you've (hopefully) developed.
