Raster Math and MUDding

So, good news! I finally got that surface to work with my data! Now I can (relatively) accurately model the bedrock surface and have it match reasonably well with the measurements I took in the field. It sort of falls apart after a certain distance upstream, but what can you do?

Also: I have discovered that Retromud is one of the coolest games I have ever played. If you enjoy text based RPGs, I can highly reccommend it!

Firstly, that I have no idea what the whole project was, or what the materials you are using to model.

But I thought I'd still stop by, say "Hi", and ask if you mind me adding you in as a friend? I'm not here often, as Reefgirl can attest. But can nearly always be found by e-mails. (See my zone, or my h2g2 PS U903557)

Back later ...

Nick

Hi!

You can find what I'm working on in the archives, if you're interested. I think it was my first post!

Ummmm. Having read it, I am very litte the wiser. My only knowledge of geology, the formations after the last play of the glaciers, is what I've seen here and there across Canada. Impressive, the size and odd formations the rocks and hunks have become. But never took the time to delve into the when's and how's. Early years were kinda full of school, farm and black-sheep stuff, then later lots of getting by in life (military), marriages, now grand-kids, and still more life. With a lot of electronics technology and engineering scattered through-out.

Sorry.

It's OK- basically, what I'm doing is trying to figure out what controls how fast a river erodes into solid rock. This journal is meant to be mostly a brain dump for what I'm doing.

Then dump away, and I will try to nod very knowingly on occassion. *grins*

*sends huge cannisters of the strongest Tim Horton's coffee, to help with later journal-posted stuff*
